It's World Cat Day! We Couldn't Miss That!

Well, it's been a while since there's been a blog post on Kely's blog...3 months in fact! But what better day to jump back in than on World Cat Day (aka International Cat Day).

Kely has many friends who love her, that that makes me smile...every day! Every day I am able to take her to work with me, Kely 'holds court' with her many admirers.

Young and old alike feel 'warm and fuzzy' when Kely snuggles up to them and greets them with her 'Granny' meow! That meow always brings a smile to their face!

So you can see that Kely is loved every day, but today is the day we honor our love of all cats. World Cat Day was first celebrated in 2002, with the day made official by the International Fund for Animal Welfare, who are joined by world-wide animal welfare organizations to bring to light the needs of cats, from issues like abuse and environmental enrichment to keep them happiest!

I know my Kely means the world to me, and today we want to thank all the other human beings in the world that make a cat's life happier and healthier because of the love and admiration and respect they have for all cats!

If you'd like to learn more about World Cat Day, just visit the IFAW page today:

and have fun reading these other pages we found and learned a few tidbits of cat info even we didn't know!

Fashion Friday, Spring has Sprung!

Well, it's time to put away the winter wardrobe and think Spring! And the lovely Lake Anne Plaza is the perfect place to show off a pretty flowery dress!

And to sniff the breeze, too!

But Kely's been busy working, too, keeping all the Just Cats Clinic staff at her beck & call!

Kely's health is staying pretty stable, too. She gets an exam and lab work every six months since she's a Senior Catizen, and I'm happy to report that she has remained pretty stable for the last year.

Her BUN has gone from 39 a year ago to 46 now, her Creatinine is staying at 2.0 and her urine SpG around 1.015, so you can tell she is geriatric and in Stage 2 Kidney disease. But she isn't anemic nor having to go on phosphorous binders or potassium supplements. She does get 50cc of Lactated Ringers subQ every other day and of course, is on her IBD meds every other day, too.

Her appetite is good and she's increased her weight just a tad in the past few months and while she's a way from her top weight of 5.68#, at 5.18#, I am pretty pleased and as you can see in one of the photos above, she often eats breakfast in bed! What a luxury! She pretty much gets what she asks for!

But maybe the biggest news to announce is that Kely is going to attend her very first BlogPaws Pet Blogger and Social Media Conference in a couple of weeks! Yes, while this will be my 8th conference, Coco's 7th conference and the boys 3rd conference, since this time it's within driving distance, it's do-able!

They all have quite a social media following and fans have been clambering to hug Disco NoFurNo again and to stroke Brighton's velvety fur, Kely will be alongside them all, telling people all about the Human-Cat Bond and how what I do with my cats enhances my relationship with them...

We will be part of the #BlogPaws Cat Lounge this year, and so taking all four cats along will also give them some nap time and R & R, because I will let them all share in the PR duties! We will be talking about our favorite strollers, toys, grooming items, clicker training and of course, pet fashion!

We are very excited to be showcasing many designers creations, but in the Cat Lounge we are going to focus on one very special company, Mister Migs, not only because of their cute styles but also because of their mission, too!

We'll talk more about that in our next post, but here is Kely's Mister Migs dress, the Rag Muffin Chia harness dress. All the kitties will have coordinating ensembles that will just knock your socks off!

And Mister Migs is donating a gift bag full of some cat-sized bow-tie collars and some human-sized Logo T's that will be given away at the end of the conference, just like all the fabulous items in the Cat Lounge!

Here's a link to info all about the BlogPaws Cat Lounge

If you visit that link, you will also find info on how to register for the conference! We'd love to see you there!

Fashion Friday! Working Cat Kely...

Kely goes to work wth me almost every day...she is a very agreeable passenger in the car, too!

Kely makes sure she greets every client from her place on the reception desk at Just Cats Clinic!

She also adds something special to the treat display, and makes sure everyone knows that her famous daughter is the star of her very own book, Coco le Chat, The World's Most Fashionable Feline!

Kely works hard, but she also knows when it's time to take a break from working and has her very own heated bed where she can curl up and snooze!

#NationalLoveYourPetDay, Kely Brings Love to Every Day!

Today is National Love Your Pet Day! Heck, I love my Kely Bray every single day. So what can I do to celebrate and honor the love we share?  Maybe by sharing some photos of us together!

I think she knows I love and appreciate her,  and the time we share together makes me happy, too!

So today, do something special with your furry friend, because today is all about love and growing that love and enriching both your lives in the process! Happy #NationalLoveYourPetDay!

#BlogPaws Wordless Wednesday Video, Kely Style!

I have made dozens of videos of Kely, mostly during the nice summer months when we sit outside by Lake Anne after work.

But while I can take videos with my iPhone, I have yet to try editing or adding music or  even really 'movie making' and BlogPaws says 2017 will be the Year of the Video! So I better get learning how to make movies that will WOW our friends!

But til then...here's a cute little video of Kely, dressed in a sweet-as-can-be Bee frock, and she's enjoying sniffin' the summer breeze...wouldn't you like to be doing that right about now?!

If you want to learn more about making videos that draw people to your blog or to your Instagram page or even to become the next internet sensation, but sure to check out this BlogPaws article explaining just how to go about doing that!

#BlogPaws Wordless Wednesday Blog Hop 'Season's Greetings'

Yes, that is Kely, burrowed inside a very Merry & Bright kitty sleeping bag, purrfect for the holiday season! She is dressed in a sweet (not ugly) Christmas sweater!

Kely says staying warm is a priority this time of year, and is very happy to have a fleecy snuggle sack to curl up in! Kind of makes me want to curl up and do the same!

#BlogPaws Wordless Wednesday Hop! Here Comes December!

Since I haven't posted anything to Kely's blog in almost a month, one might think she hasn't been up to much worth sharing...But no, it's just my lack of initiative and the fact that it's now dark when I leave for work and dark when I get home.

I kind of dream of being Kely sometimes, even though in human years, she's 15 years older than me! Her days are filled with naps, breakfast (lunch and sometimes dinner) in bed and lots of cuddling! When she is at work with me, Kely has a large, well-trained staff to cater to her every need...

video

And when Kely is at home, she has her choice of places to curl up, and if it's sunny she can be found stretched out on the 'Country Suite' guest room bed, and she will be sure to come and yell at me if any of the other kitties try and take her spot!

And I'm also happy to share the good news, that Kely recently had an abdominal ultrasound to see how her tummy was doing and great news there! All the measurements of her intestinal tract and lymph nodes were within normal limits---YAY! A big improvement over a year ago!

And while I was hoping Kely's IBD, presumptively diagnosed just over a year ago, was being well-controlled with meds as her vomiting has stopped, I still can't get her to gain weight and I just wanted to make sure nothing was hiding inside that I should know about!

That good news made everyone at work smile, including her handsome man friend, Dr Anderson! Kely has made him want to get a Cornish Rex of his own some day! She brings lots of smle to everyone she meets!

She has quite a following on her Instagram page and she'd love for you to follow her, too! You can find her at at www.instagram.com/kely_with_one_l

And while Instagram is fun, instant gratification way to pass the time, joining in on the BlogPaws Wordless Wednesday Blog Hop is loads of fun, too and a great way to meet new friends!
